So this past week was an interesting week for me. I had some big decisions on opportunities that came to me as well as even larger awarenesses and as I have mentioned to friends and family it’s almost as if the many seeds that have been sown are sprouting and if I look at this analogy in conjunction with my own experiences, the letting go of fear, awareness, acceptance and alignment are opening to so much clarity. We are in a time of significant co-creation: surrender and awareness. Much is being presented to us in the material world as well as our Soul Consciousness and we get to decide the alignment of that as it continues to speak to our purpose. That purpose in itself fosters an infinite alignment of energy, which when we began to realize is infinite; it becomes unshakable, unbreakable no matter how things may appear.
I was sharing with the Provost at GBC the other day how throughout my life I have always felt I was chasing the coat tails of where i was trying to go and if I did not grab ahold of the coat tails when presented the opportunity would be lost rather than feeling I was already wearing the coat. I think that is true for most of us and probably even more so for many of us depending on who we are; our up bringing, experience ; as well as dimensions of all aspects of who we are. And whenever an opportunity presents itself we may feel we have to grab on to it or it will never be presented again; or because maybe we are less deserving; or not as well suited, or equally qualified….rather than THE question of is this best suited for me at this time; I am deserving, I work hard and am worthy. Then the next decision beyond this is, is it aligned with my purpose at this moment. Next comes the realization that the energy which is being fostered will continue to create opportunities and choices.
I was recently presented with two opportunities through the school I attend for my PhD to apply for a fellowship at the Yale School of Environmental Studies and also a position as a Research Scientist Engineer at the University of Washington Center for Evaluation and Research for Stem Equity. Both can be done remotely with some travel. I was on a lengthly call with the Chair of my program last week and she expressed to me her whole hearted support of me entering both of these opportunities of which she had traveled and would support me if I decided to pursue. I got quite shy in hearing her perspective of me and her saying that I did not fully realize my potential. She on the other hand also said don’t feel like this is a one and done many choices will be presented to you and you get to choose. I heard that same echo as one of my other mentors the President at GBC said this to me and i guess i was just finally in the place where i could hear it. My conversation with her was just blowing my mind. So I took some time to think about it and realize I have lots in focus right now..and much is actualizing and aligning. I also want to give focus to my dissertation next year as well as continue to create space for myself, my writing, my community work at the center, my teaching.and travel supporting a few other initiatives I am exploring. For me purpose as opposed to prestige aligns me and I am realizing will carry me in whatever I am to do. When I circled back to my Chair and let her know that I decided not to pursue at this time..her response was i love how you allow your higher self and praxis to guide you that’s your magic and I will support you in your endeavors in anyway I can as there will be so much more. Then she said I am not surprised by your decision at all where many would have jumped on it..you are a co-creator of purpose and are feeling into what that means. I said I guess I am growing into new shoes. She said yes you are…she then asked me when are you going to write your book…i said i am working on it…her response was “YES PLEASE”. The energy of all of this has facilitated yet another shift and awareness within me and i am grateful.
