We offer many regular workshops to provide a wealth of knowledge and wisdom from the holistic community. Gentle Yoga, Everyday Mindfulness, Qigong, and Vibrational Expressions are just some of these varied offerings which we schedule on a monthly or weekly basis at the center. Yoga, Tai Chi & Qigong Workshops

Chakra-Focused Yoga Workshop
Explore poses that correspond to the seven chakras, or energy centers, in the body, which can become imbalanced or blocked by stress, pain, tension, low self-esteem, situational challenges, or past experiences.

Gentle Yoga (Vinyasa Style)
This workshop offers accessible postures to awaken our awareness, follow our breath, and link mind, body and spirit.  Ease low back pain, strengthen the breath-body connection, and learn the practice of Vinyasa yoga in a gentle, stepwise manner.   We will focus on alignment, injury-prevention, and sustainable yoga practice.  Suitable for beginners and all-level yogis. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat if you have one!

Qigong Workshop
Join us each month as we build a fundamental Qigong practice. Drawing on the philosophy of Tradition Chinese Medicine, we will establish the underlying philosophy of Qigong. The qigong state of mind is essential for getting the most out of the physical exercises. Learn the “energy anatomy” of your body and how to put it to use for you! Breathing techniques and exercises to instantly bring up your energy level. A systematic approach to progressing and getting more benefit out of even simple movements. Qigong posture principles to put physics and biomechanics on your side! Qigong longevity exercises to help slow the aging process and restore your body to a more vibrant state of health. Finally, we will put this all in a program that can be taken home and applied! Supported by handouts, periodic emails on how to grow your practice, and a community of people who are committed to helping each other achieve the best quality of life!

Sun Style Tai Chi
Sun Style Tai Chi is known as the “agile step” Tai Chi.  In this class, we will learn a series of postures or ‘forms’ that will build your grace and inner strength.  Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice designed to optimize your internal energy and improve your health.  Build your practice, and let the Tai Chi set become a daily moving meditation that grows and expands as your experience of it deepens.  Tai Chi is a living art- a process that continues to gain in depth and insight.

Sun Style Tai Chi is unique among Tai Chi styles in that it was created as a synthesis of three different healing modalities.  Ba Gua, the eight trigram step, brings fluidity and constant motion.  Hising-I, the mind form, brings powerful movements and intentional force.  And Tai Chi, the supreme ultimate, combines a philosophy of balance, simplicity, and grace.

Laughter for Health
Feeling rundown? – Try laughing some more! ‘’Guided’’ laughter coupled with very simple movements, work together in this unique class for a truly new experience. Far from simple reactions to jokes, hearty laughter can be serious business! ‘’Haha’s’’ and ‘’Hehe’s’’ are powerful – and important social tools, aiding in many health benefits. The main goal of ‘’Laughter for Health’’ is to bring people together in a group setting, inducing laughter through guidance and simple breathing exercises – thus benefiting in not only the physical health benefits of laughter, but the emotional an social ones as well.

Laughter in groups has been shown too …

  • Increase vascular blood flow and oxygenation of the blood
  • Give a workout to the diaphragm and abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles

Vibrational Expressions
Sounds are around us constantly – they come from many sources, some are positive – and some conflict with us. In ”Vibrational Expressions” participants are guided through meditation on how sounds effect us, on both the physical and mental plane.  Emotionally we explore how vibrations can inspire and strengthen our over-all well-being. Through the use of Tibetan ”singing bowls” and the ancient Chinese ”Eight Healing Sounds” The group will lay out an understanding of the profound effects sound, intention and tone have on our mental and physical health. No fine art skills are required!! The ”Painting” aspect of this class is here to make meditative vibrations more tangible.

The main goal of the Vibrational Expressions meditations is to truly open one’s head-space to a more attentive auditory space – this allows a truly unique meditation experience through the vehicle of vibration, tone and simplistic fluid painting.

Akashic & Reiki Classes

Introduction to the Akashic Records Workshop I and II
These workshops build on each other and are designed to be an introductory exploration into the Akashic Records. During our time together we will discuss what the records are, how they work and review the potential expansion to our spiritual growth that the resurgence of this most Revered and Ageless Art can offer one seeking enlightenment. We will also examine some of the ancient knowledge and esoteric wisdom the Hall of Records accumulates and stores along with the individual histories of each and every soul. (Hand-outs included)

Intro to the Akashic Records I & II serve as two of the prerequisites required prior to attending Akashic Records Class I and II and are an essential component of the certification process through IWC to becoming an Akashic Records Consultant.

Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Level I and II
Reiki is a Japanese Technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It’s administered by laying on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen ” life force energy” flows through us and what causes us to be alive. If ones “life force energy” is low, than we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being healthy and happy.

Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Level I and II are taught together during a weekend intensive. Both attunement are given. During this class the student will learn the following:

  • The Reiki Hand Positions
  • Giving a complete Reiki Treatment to self and others
  • Japanese Reiki Techniques as taught by Dr. Usui
  • Hayashi Healing Guide
  • Using Reiki for specific conditions and healing
  • The Reiki II Symbols, how to use them with practice time
  • Using Reiki to heal unwanted habits
  • Using Reiki for Distance Healing
Class is a combination of instruction and practice. You will want to commit to practice time using the Reiki with other individuals. This will aide in the confidence and experience you need to becoming a Reiki Practitioner. Course instruction based on the guidelines as set by the International Center for Reiki Training.

Community Events (Love Donation)

Community Meditation
Community Meditation is about coming together.  Every Monday night, we sit, and are led through short meditation techniques.  This class is taught so that the techniques are accessible and applicable to personal practice.  As a community, we can expand the depth of our experience.  This free program features 3 – 4 meditations over a one hour period.  We will cover in each session: breathing meditations, traditional Zen meditation, awareness meditations, and focusing techniques.  Through the process of meditation, we begin to be aware of the “ground of being”- that which exists before and above thought.  Discover your true potential in a community of seekers.  Come together with friends in an open space, and find what healing can happen through sitting in meditation!

Inspirational Poetry Discussion Group
The purpose of this Discussion Group will be an opportunity to explore, share and examine poetry from an inspirational perspective. Included will be the sharing of individual and original pieces. The discussion, elucidation and perspective on original interpretations will pull from spiritual concepts, esoteric knowledge and ancient wisdom as all of this relates to who we are as beings and our interconnectedness to one another. The group will be free form and based on sharing, learning and exchanging of ideas and knowledge. First Friday of every month, Facilitated by Melvina Brown, Deb Gottselig and Justin Casteel.

Monthly Drum Circle
Come Make Some Joyful Noise at IWC! On the third Friday of every month, bring your drum, percussion instrument, etc, of choice or just come and share in the vibration. Weather permitting we will hold in the garden with firepit. Otherwise will be held in studio. Feel free to bring something to share! Love Donations Accepted.

Spiritual Cinema
Come join us at IWC for our Spiritual Cinema night the second Friday of Every month. We will show a movie TBA with a theme that speaks to who we are, our spiritual essence and our connection to each other. An organic green drink prepared by IWC Holistic Health Coach Laurie Wiker and organic popcorn will be provided during the showing.
