Linnea Tober

BIO

We are all creative beings, artists. Every one of us has the innate desire to express what is inside of us. Creating art is my way down the rabbit hole, my salvation. Bold colors and unique textures consistently find their way into my work. I believe the true photographer moves to get the shot, they do not wait for the shot to ‘happen’, they make it happen. I am a ‘colorist’ at heart and thrive when playing with color in my abstract works.  My photography works focus mainly on nature, the intricate textures, shapes and shadows she creates on her own. I shoot those images, always thinking of what it can ‘become’. I then twist and tweak them to make them my own ‘nature photographic abstractions’. Sometimes you can see the original image and sometimes not, it all depends on where the muse takes me. I think of this as working with Mother Nature, rather than against her.  Linnea’s CHAKRA series is based on floral photography that she has transformed into pure color energy, representing each CHAKRA. The flowers she began her process with (roses, tulips, tiger lilies, irises_and so many more); are all from her own garden.  Each flower represents specific energies and associations to her, and she strived to portray that in each work.

COURSE NAME:

Chakras, an exploration in color and energy, Art Show and Reception

Participants will be educated on the various chakras and what they mean, as well as how to activate and enhance them. Chakra artwork will be on exhibit and for sale throughout the center. Art show is in collaboration with Chakradance and Chakra Painting.

Deborah (Devra) Janelle- Giles

BIO

As a child I wanted to learn to dance.  I had a deep desire to spin, float and be the music while expressing emotion through movement.  The opportunity came later in life in the form of a sacred, meditative form of belly dance.  I have now been teaching belly dance as both a performance art and meditative healing art since 1999.  I am also a professional artist creating mixed media art that expresses emotions through words, images and colors. I had searched for years for a healing certification program that would incorporate all these forms of expression. Chakradance is perfect as it uses dance, music, guided imagery and art, everything that keeps me connected to my soul in ways that are deep and profound.  I have a passion to pass this healing form on to others.

COURSE NAME:

Chakradance

Chakradance is a form of nourishment for your true self, for your soul.  Blending free-flowing movements with particular frequencies of sound. Chakradance will free the energy in your body and open you to a deeper experience of life.

Chakra Painting

This class will focus on working the energies of color, sounds and shapes to create a visual expression of the chakra being studied that week. All supplies will be provided. No previous art experience needed as this is a class designed for intuitive expression.

COURSE NAME:

Introduction dōTERRA Essential Oils

Learn the basics of dōTERRA essential oils: what they are, where they come from and how to use them for all of life’s daily issues. Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. If you have ever enjoyed the gift of a rose, a walk by a field of lavender, or the smell of fresh cut mint, you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. In addition to giving plants their distinctive smells, essential oils provide plants with protection against predators and disease and play a role in plant pollination. Using essential oils can be both profoundly simple and life changing at the same time. Essential oils are very clean, almost crisp, to the touch and are immediately absorbed by the skin. Pure, unadulterated essential oils are translucent and range in color from crystal clear to deep blue. Please join me to discover ways to reinvent your healthcare with safe, effective and inexpensive natural solutions. I will be sharing ways to improve not only your physical health but your mental and spiritual well-being also. I am offering natural options to care for yourself, your family and your home with essential oils.

esSCENTial Kundalini

Come expand your consciousness through the transformative practice of Kundalini Yoga complemented by aromatherapy. Raise your vibration and enjoy the SCENTsation.  Kundalini Yoga is often referred to as the “the yoga of awareness.” The practice of Kundalini meticulously combines pranayama (breath work), mudra (hand gestures), drishti (eye-focus), mantra (sound), bandhas (body locks), and postures. This combination creates balance in the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purifies the blood. Both yoga and essential oils tap into the parasympathetic nervous system, which controls the body’s own ability to relax. A claim and relaxed body in the present moment is necessary for the proper attunement needed to raise one’s vibrational energy. Twenty seconds after the inhalation of an essential oil a visceral reaction occurs in the amygdala {the emotional core of the brain}. That reaction is tagged and stored by the effect of that emotion. In this practice the aim is to transmute stress into wellness through SCENTsations. Combining mantra, meditation, Kriya and aromatherapy therapy we will vibrate at our highest frequency. Each part of the practice is carefully selected to optimize the body’s ability to flow. We will practice a powerful kriya to initiate a deep spiritual connection both physically and mentally. doTERRA essential oils will be introduced as a compliment to your practice at designated times to enhance and enrich your experience.

COURSE NAME:

Into the Light: A Cosmic Flow Workshop

Cosmic Consciousness is perception of the spiritual unity of the living cosmos. In the state of cosmic consciousness, unity and diversity co-exist in spiritual harmony. Cosmic Flow is a yoga practice that’s designed to awaken awareness of our nitya svarupa, our eternal spiritual nature, and bring us to a corresponding state of harmony with the spiritual nature of the universe. We’ll begin with mantra meditation and pratyahara; a deep turning inward, followed by a yin/yang asana practice, a simple post-asana pranayama, and finish with a guided meditation that will take us on a journey to the realization of the innermost desire of our hearts. Recommended for yogis at all levels of practice (2.5 hours).

Introduction to Yoga Philosophy

Is ‘reality’ an illusion? What does ‘karma’ really mean? Are there ‘correct’ interpretations of Sanskrit wisdom texts? In this workshop we’ll look the origin and historical development of yoga, de-mystify its philosophical terminology, and explore some of its more challenging propositions. Participants will gain a frame of reference that will help them identify and understand different schools of yoga philosophy, learn techniques for reading classical yoga texts that will make their essential messages more accessible, and have an opportunity to explore the relevance of traditional yoga philosophy to yoga in the 21st century. This workshop is for anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the philosophical foundations of the practice of yoga (3 hours).

Kirtan

Everything is vibrating. If we want to change our experience then all we need to do is change the vibration. Kirtan, the call-and-response chanting of the names of Bhagavan, the Supreme Person, is the sublime method for awakening our spiritual senses and illuminating transcendental knowledge from within our hearts. The Upanishads tell us that the joyful singing of mantras – transcendental sound vibrations – is the most effective way to elevate our consciousness, heal our hearts, and bring peace to the world. No musical experience or ability is required; all one needs is a sincere desire to absorb one’s self in the purifying shower of transcendental sound (2 hours).

Luba Smith

BIO

“Luba has been creating for as long as she can remember. As a child she enjoyed sewing, ceramics, crocheting and knitting. She has wonderful memories of taking these creative classes at the Girls’ Club in Wilmington. Creativity became a way of expressing herself and consequently became a big part of her life.

Later in life she applied her creative skills in the kitchen. To this day (and much to her husband’s dismay) she never follows a recipe exactly. She reads the recipe and then does it her way. Luba developed a passion for rubber stamping and continues to indulge in a variety of paper crafts. She is well known for her hand-made cards, invitations and bookmarks. Drawing and painting were not a part of her life – not yet anyway.

She admired many artists, but always felt that drawing and painting were beyond her skills. Suddenly Van Gogh’s adage had meaning to her. That day was December 9, 2007. She began with self-study through the local library and the internet. Every few days she went to the library to check out more art books from all over the county and a few from beyond. Soon her centrally located dining room evolved into an art studio. As a tribute, she later painted the Rachel Kohl Library and named it “Great Beginnings,” a copy of which is on permanent display at the library.

In February 2009, she enrolled in classes with Karl Kuerner, a leading Brandywine artist who studied under Caroline and Andy Wyeth. On her first day of class, only one other student was there because of a heavy snow storm. Karl offered to dismiss the class early, but Luba immediately declined because she had “waited so long” to start class. She hasn’t looked back and has been painting nonstop since that day!

Luba primarily works in acrylic and enjoys landscapes, particularly with architecture and also portrait paintings. On her easel, you will find this quote by Van Gogh, “What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” This quote encourages her to always reach for the next level in painting. Luba had paintings on display at Gallery One in Chadds Ford.

After spending 15 years in software development, Luba now provides technical support in an elementary school. She lives in Garnet Valley with her husband and 3 boys. She paints nearly every day.”

COURSE NAME:

“Purple Flower” Painting Workshop

No experience necessary, just a willingness to do it. Canvas, paint, and use of all materials will be provided along with a step-by-step demonstration. By the end of the session, you will have your own completed masterpiece that you can proudly display.

I was even able to find my own name in history and my own familial links which make so much sense and resonate at a very deep and spiritual level.) Love!!!
